Inspiration can come suddenly, sometimes when we least expect it. It can "fly away" suddenly too so I've made the habit to quickly grab my sketch book when a creative thought occurs and draw what I feel inspired about. Or take a picture using my phone if I'm on a walk and I see something beautiful (like these flowers!). Sometimes inspiration comes right before I fall asleep and all I can do is stay awake long enough to write myself a quick email with a keyword that hopefully reminds me of the inspiration in the morning. Do you ever write emails to yourself as reminders? I can highly recommend it! It has saved me many times!
So, what gives me art inspiration? Here is my top ten list, not necessarily in this order:
6. Other artists' stories
7. Art created by others, sometimes in a different medium
10. Surfing the internet (between interesting articles and blogs about creating art and beautiful images, you can spend lots of time finding inspiration!)
Do you like to be creative? If so, what is your favorite art/craft and what inspires you most? I would love to hear!
So this is my first blog post on my brandnew website www.presentsoflove.com. I guess I just want to say hello and thanks for finding my site. I loved drawing as a child and have been creative off and on as an adult. With this new site, I'm hoping to highlight some of the cool products featuring my art and give you an inside peek into how the art is created.
Dealing with painful health issues these past few months, I have come to realize that while physical therapy is helping to heal my body, art is helping my mind. So, I guess you know what my New Year's resolutions are? Heal my body and create more art! Can you help me stick with it? :0)
